WHAT IS YSP?
Youth Service Project (YSP) is a week-long mission trip for youth (current 9-12th graders) and adults. Students going on the trip are not required to be accompanied by their parents. During the week, we will partner with an organization to work at sites in the area. These can include working on roofs, building houses, painting, and renovations, or other building projects. We often will stay in local churches during the week and have meals provided by our food manager. YSP is a time for us to grow closer to God through worship, devotional time, prayer, and fellowship with our fellow members. It is more than the hammer and nail; it’s about breaking bread and coming together as a community. It is our goal to help one family at a time, how they are and where they are, and form lasting relationships with each place we serve. Lastly, while traveling we will schedule times to sightsee and have fun activities planned!

YSP 2024 Trip & Fundraising
Trip Dates are June 21-29 to Reelfoot Rural Missions in Obion, TN. The housing outreach ministry, The ReelHOME Program, serves eligible low-income households with an intentional focus on helping older adults stay in their homes by making them safer, more accessible, and more efficient.
Meetings are on the following Sundays at noon in Wesley’s room.

Fundraisers
The BIG Event
Join us for the BIG Event on Sunday, April 14 from 5 PM to 8 PM. This annual event is a great fundraiser for the YSP trip and includes an evening of dinner, auctions, and entertainment. You can purchase tickets in the Info Hub after services or call the church office to reserve a ticket (designate your online giving to “other” then type Big Event in the comment section). If you reserve a ticket, do not forget to come pick it up from the church office before the big day. You will need your physical ticket to participate in the auctions. Tickets are $15 for adults. Kids 17 and under are FREE.
YSP students are looking for items to fill the Silent and Live Auction tables for our fundraiser, Heroes for Humanity, on April 14th. Ideas of sought after items in the past: restaurant gift cards, rounds of golf, tickets to an event, themed baskets such as Movie Night, Coffee-Lovers, Game-Night, Gardening, etc. (no lottery tickets or alcohol please) Donation forms are located in the church office. Plant Sale
Grab your plant sale form in the Info Hub or the church office. Deadline to turn in is April 28, so pick yours up today! Sale day is May 10 & 11 here at MUMC. If you do not fill out a presale form there will still be hanging pots on sale the days of.
YSP Stocks
Support the YSP Mission trip in a new way in 2024. We are offering “YSP Mission Trip Stock” for our trip to Reelfoot Rural Mission in Obion, TN. Purchase one of three classes of stock to receive a certificate and the following:
Class C Stockholders pay $35:
